County convenience center for household garbage (fee by weight) and free pre-sorted recycling: aluminum and steel cans, auto batteries, rechargeable batteries, cardboard, cooking oil, electronics (no TVs), glass bottles and jars, paper, #1 and #2 plastic bottles and jugs, scrap metal and appliances, and sharps containers. Motor oil and other automotive fluids (5 gal per visit) and oil filters are accepted here.
Rules
Household quantities only; contractors, commercial quantities, construction materials and large trailer loads should use the Rowan County Landfill. All loads must be covered. TVs, propane tanks and fire extinguishers go to the Recycling Processing Center; tires to the landfill.
