Staffed county convenience center for bagged household garbage and mixed recyclables (paper, cartons, cardboard, plastic bottles and jugs, steel and aluminum cans, glass). Also takes bulky items (couches, mattresses, furniture), yard waste (limbs under 6 in. thick and 6 ft long), small C&D loads up to 200 lbs, batteries, cooking oil, fluorescent/LED bulbs, electronics and TVs, non-Freon appliances and scrap metal, and clothes, shoes and books.
Rules
Rural Nash County residents only, with a valid Nash County Convenience Center Permit displayed; town residents and commercial contractors may not use the sites. Not accepted: wet paint, stains, solvents and fuels, Freon appliances (take to the landfill), bricks, asphalt, concrete, shingles, animal carcasses, auto parts, burning materials and hazardous waste. Cover loads in open trailers.
